Pregnancy Due Date Calculator – Plan Your Joyful Journey

Finding out you are pregnant is one of life’s most beautiful moments. Along with the excitement, the first question every parent asks is: "When will my baby arrive?"

Calculator Aangan’s Premium Due Date Calculator helps you estimate your delivery date with high accuracy based on advanced medical formulas (Naegele's Rule). It doesn’t just give you a date; it tracks your entire timeline—from conception to the final trimester.

How is Due Date Calculated?

Doctors worldwide use a standard method to estimate the EDD (Estimated Due Date). Since it is difficult to know the exact day of conception, the calculation is based on your LMP (Last Menstrual Period).

The Formula: Naegele's Rule

EDD = First Day of LMP + 280 Days (40 Weeks)

This assumes a regular 28-day cycle.

  • If your cycle is longer (e.g., 32 days): The ovulation happened later, so your due date is pushed forward.
  • If your cycle is shorter (e.g., 24 days): The ovulation happened earlier, so your due date is earlier.

Our calculator automatically adjusts for your specific cycle length to give you a personalized result.

What Does Your Result Mean?

When you click "Calculate Due Date", here is what you see:

  1. Estimated Due Date: The approximate date you will meet your little one. Remember, only 5% of babies are born on the exact due date. Most arrive within a week before or after.
  2. Current Weeks & Days: Pregnancy is measured in weeks, not months. This tells you exactly how far along you are (e.g., "15 Weeks, 3 Days").
  3. Trimester: Pregnancy is divided into three stages:
    • First Trimester: Week 1 to 12 (Development of organs).
    • Second Trimester: Week 13 to 26 (Growth and movement).
    • Third Trimester: Week 27 to 40 (Final weight gain and preparation).
  4. Baby Size (Fruit): A fun way to visualize your baby! It’s hard to imagine "10 centimeters," but it's easy to imagine a Lemon or an Avocado.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. How accurate is this calculator?

This calculator uses the same formula as your OB-GYN. However, the most accurate dating is done via a First Trimester Ultrasound (Dating Scan), which measures the baby's size directly. Use this tool for planning and tracking until your scan.

2. My cycle is irregular. Can I still use this?

Yes, but the result is an estimate. If your cycles vary widely (e.g., 25 days one month, 35 the next), calculate using the average length. For highly irregular periods, an ultrasound is the only way to determine the due date.

3. Why is pregnancy counted as 40 weeks (10 months)?

It is actually 9 months and 1 week approx. We count from the start of your last period, roughly 2 weeks before you actually conceived. So, the first 2 weeks of your "pregnancy," you weren't actually pregnant!

4. Can the due date change?

Yes. Your doctor might adjust your due date after the 12-week scan if the baby measures smaller or larger than expected based on your period dates.

5. Is my data private?

100% Private. At Calculator Aangan, your health data (LMP, Cycle) is processed instantly on your device. We do not store, save, or share your personal information with anyone.
